Under Carrick’s management, Maguire has become a staple in the starting lineup, participating in every league match since January and receiving consistent support from his manager. His extensive experience, with 64 caps and 12 appearances in World Cup matches, offers valuable leadership as the team prepares for the tournament.

The absence of Manchester United players from the England squad marks an 18-month gap, reflecting the chaotic and underperforming period that characterized the latter stages of the Amorim era at Old Trafford. The club finished a disappointing 15th in the Premier League last season and faced a loss in the Europa League final against Tottenham.
