The release of magazine articles, promotional videos, and public appearances at trade shows ensured that the early version remained in the public consciousness. Despite being shelved, glimpses of Resident Evil 1.5 continued to circulate:

  • Promotional material was still being shared as late as December 1997.
  • Fans discovered cut content in a Director’s Cut bonus disc and leftover files in early demo versions.
